Wiregrass Update: Panera In, Cheesecake Factory Still Just A Rumor
The smell of bread baking will soon be an everyday scent for shoppers. However, at thispoint, we cannot confirm or deny whether or not there will be cheesecake at the Shops atWiregrass. The mall will soon be home to a new jewelry store, as well.
The information in this article was not received until after we went to press with ourlatest New Tampa issue, which hit mailboxes in the 33647 area today.
Along S.R. 56, a sign boasting the phrase, “Baking Soon,” has appeared, letting driverspassing by that will soon have a brand new Panera Bread bakery-café, where they cangrab a bread bowl, sandwich or salad for lunch, as well as a wide variety of baked goods.
According to the press release, Panera will be built on the outparcel closest to GrillSmithand S.R. 56, and is expected to be open for business sometime in November, just in timefor holiday shopping.
“Our concept has been embraced by many surrounding communities, and we lookforward to sharing our signature Panera warmth here in the Wesley Chapel and NewTampa area,” says Kevin Ricci, operating partner of Covelli Family Limited Partnership,a Panera franchisee that operates more than 200 Paneras across the country, 26 in theTampa Bay area, including the location on Highwoods Preserve Dr. off Bruce B. Downs Blvd. (BBD) near I-75, and the location nearest to the University of South Florida (USF),further south on BBD, in between Fowler and Fletcher Ave.
We have no further information at this time about what will replace the recently shutteredAja. A spokesperson for the mall says that Cheesecake Factory moving in is, as of now,still just a rumor.
Pandora Jewelry
In addition to the Panera Bread, the Shops at Wiregrass will also soon be welcoming a Pandora Jewelry, which will move into space 120, located right next to The Closet shoestore, between Chico’s and Dillard’s.
The store, which is expected to open in mid to late October, will be about 1,000 sq. ft.and will carry the entire line of sterling silver and 14-karat-gold Pandora Jewelry.
“We are offering Wiregrass the entire Pandora shopping experience,” says HeidiHardman, of Polkadotz, the franchisee. “People can create their completely customlook from our extensive line of charms to represent their own unforgettable moments,important people, pets and events in their life.”
Polkadotz, which is owned by Hardman and her husband Tai Sanchez, has more thansix years of experience selling Pandora jewelry in the Orlando area and Heidi says shejumped at the opportunity to move into our area.
“This opportunity came up at the right time and everything just fell into place,” shesays. “I am thrilled to be opening in Wiregrass.”
